I've tried to watch Lost with friends who are obsessed on three different occasions and I simply cannot get into it! Do you think it's a thing where you have to start from the beginning?

For me I started with the first episode of Season 2 and was able to get into it and catchup on the first season later. Before the start of each season or after any break they always have a "catchup" episode where the explain the plot.Every episode builds on the previous ones pretty much. It's hands down my favorite TV show I have ever watched.
