We gave Cho exactly what he wanted.

All over the country there have been shooting threats. One kid was caught with 3 handguns in a school (CNN). Am I alone in thinking that NBC didn’t have to air all of PsyCHOs photos and videos? It just glorified him. He was influenced by the Columbine kids, now future killers are being influenced by Cho and all of the attention we gave him. I’m 100% for freedom of speech and the press but shouldn’t there be responsibility in what is aired and released? Did we really need to see those images? Would it not have been enough to just release his rambling writings?Article on "copycats":http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/19/vtech.threats/index.html

Baby, I love you, but I'm going to have to block that picture. I can't look at it on my friends page, too. Unfortunately it will block everything from wiki, I think.Eight years ago when Columbine happened, Cho was 15. He probably saw and knew everything about the 2 guys that did that, all their videos. And through the years, he's thought, "Hey, I can do that, too." I wonder who will be shooting up schools 8 years from now b/c of seeing all Cho's pictures and videos. One of his plays is already on youtube. Yuck.

I agree 100%. I could have lived a lifetime without seeing the footage of him. They are only giving him what he wanted.

I tried really hard to avoid seeing the footage. I saw some of it on Olbermann, and we ended up turning off the episode 20 minutes in.CNN has been showing pictures of the victims, which I highly approve of.

I agree with you, I don't think video of him should have been as widely visible/available, and as soon. I was interested to see it, just because I am very interested in abnormal psychology, and I'd like to see it in entirety later. But I think it's a mistake to have it everywhere for everyone to see, it just compounds the trauma, and yeah, especially makes a powerful impression on kids.

I totally agree. Showing that footage was just what Cho wanted in his demented little mind. I guess it is a high tech world, after all. But good grief. I do hope that schools are addressing the subject with kids since I'm sure almost all kids from middle school on up have seen it by now. Yeesh.
